In the English language, there are countless words that contain “SET.” Some are familiar, like “setting” or “upset,” while others may be less common, such as “offset” or “preset.”
Yet, the most important word in your pursuit of peak performance, one that can help you transform stress into success, is hidden in plain sight.
But we won’t reveal it just yet.
In my keynote, I’ll be sharing three pillars from what I call “Performance Alchemy.” This of it as turning lead into gold.
Each of you has some lead inside of you. These are your self-doubts, anxieties, and limiting beliefs that get in the way of performance. They are what lead to distraction, prevent delegation, and keep you spinning your wheels. But with these three pillars, you can transform this lead into gold.
So what does it take?
- Think Smarter. Stress has become an inevitable part of our lives. But stress is not the enemy. It an be a catalyst for growth and innovation if we learn to harness it energy. When we change our relationship to stress, we can use it as a motivator to excel.
- Work Smarter. Most high achievers are very driven. Motivation tends not to be an issue unless they are burned out or out of alignment with their work. The issue is that they prioritize work and deprioritize themselves. What I’m proposing is most of a balance where you prioritize both. That’s just a more sustainable solution that can help prevent burnout.
- Live Smarter. Even if you were to prioritize self-care, it’s what you do during your time away from work that matters. Too often, we engage in the wrong activity. Do you need to destress or recharge? They are different. When you are more intentional about your self-care, you are living smart.
Now that we’ve unveiled the three essential pillars of Performance Alchemy, it’s time to introduce the linchpin of peak performance:
“MINDSET”
Your mindset acts as the philosopher’s stone, the core element that underpins the transformation process. With the right mindset, you can convert the leaden weight of self-doubt and anxiety into the golden attributes of confidence, resilience, and success. It is through your mindset that you transition from a state of overwhelm to a realm of optimal performance.
As simple as that might sound, it’s a practice, something you have to engage in over time until it becomes habitual.
I’ve developed seven performance-specific mindsets that can take your game to the next level. These mindsets are like keys that unlock doors to success.
Curious to know where you stand with these mindsets? Well, I’ve got something special for you. You can take this quick quiz to assess how you’re doing on these mindsets and discover areas where you can further excel. It’s a fun and insightful way to gain some valuable self-awareness.
Now, you might be wondering, “Why is mindset so crucial to performance?” Great question! Mindset is like the engine that drives your actions and decisions. It shapes how you perceive and respond to challenges, setbacks, and opportunities. With the right mindset, you can turn stress into a powerful force that propels you toward your goals.
How are you conditioned to think?
